SML Consultive was founded by Jon Antonucci when he realized that, as a training manager in corporate America, he had been able to equip his staff to complete their operational work with excellence but had failed miserably to empower their front-line leaders to effectively engage with their teams.

Feeling very strongly a solution was needed, he set out to find one. As he searched for empowering resources, he was surprised to find that very little was designed for leaders who were actively working with staff. The external tools he found were not what he felt would best help the leaders he served. It was then that he realized he already had most of what was needed…he had been doing it for 20 years and already had both the experience and materials to help empower the leaders of the organization.

Over the course of the following months, Jon began to reflect on the various leadership experiences he had. From coaching soccer, teaching martial arts, working in HR roles, training life-skills trainers, and leading in some of the harshest environments, it became clear that he had a gift and he felt called to share it with the world.

The first group of leaders that SML Consultive officially trained provided great feedback, and soon others were seeking Jon’s expertise. He partnered with a leadership-assessment software firm where he provided the functional consulting. He began working with leaders across industries: sales leaders, operations leaders, blue-collar leaders, and more, sharing his heart for Servant-Minded Leadership.
